Come wine with us Food Truck event 29 Jan 2015
2015 Started with a bang and Come wine with us decided on doing their first food truck event in Cape Town on the 29th Jan.
The Chefs Bench is a well known name in and around Cape Town, that does some of the most epic food truck events. We met up with Steffen Olivier last year to decide on an awesome evening with 56 Hundred Wines from Nederbrug and locally gourmet food truck meals.
Our location for the evening was Spasie underground restaurant located in Church Street. Known to previously be the coffee shop Haas which re located to Buitenkant street.
The Come wine with us idea was to have an informal demo with Steffen who told us of his inspiration of local is lekker meals on the evening paired with the Nederburg 56 Hundred wines.
Our wines for the evening was 4 varieties namely. Chenin, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. These wines are very well priced at R45 per bottle and available at most retail stores.
Steffen treated us to Beef short rib tomato bredie served with herbed rice, rocket and salted yogurt. Chermoula Chicken served with Phad Thai noodles. Our veg options were grilled aubergines and spinach briyani served with greens and raita as well as Home Made Chakalaka vegetables with kale quinoa & goats cheese salad and a duo of celeriac.
