Zonnebloem – Cape Town – February 2016

Cape Town – CWWU Welcome back party with Zonnebloem wines (and a look at what’s in store for 2016)

In February the Come Wine With Us team joined forced with Zonnebloem Wines to throw a little welcome back bash for a few of our Cape Town regulars.

It was a scorcher of a day with SONA 2016 activities causing some traffic challenges throughout the city, but luckily our location – hidden under the trees of Dunkley Square – created the most tranquil setting for us to escape to.

To keep refreshed, we had the full suite of both white & red Zonnebloem wines on hand along with two delicious Zonnebloem Sangria options which ended up being a huge hit with our guests.

Of course a soiree like this needs some tasty nibbles too, and seeing as we were outside enjoying the beautiful summer weather, a food truck seemed like the perfect match.

The team from Vandiar’s Indian Cuisine & Durban’s Finest Curry came on board by creating a tastebud-tingling menu consisting of samoosas with brinjal fritters, butter chicken with rice & chicken curry rotis, and we simply couldn’t wait to dig in.

Everyone was smiling from ear to ear as they tucked into this Indian feast paired with their choice of Zonnebloem wine.  It was an evening of many laughs and good conversation, one which definitely set the scene for a great year ahead…

In fact, our March event with Laborie is just around the corner and promises to be a true adventure of food, wine & beer, all wrapped up in one unforgettable evening.  There are still a few spots left, so if you want in on the action, complete our online booking form over here.  Tickets are only R300 pp and includes a complimentary bus trip for those residing in Cape Town.
Then in May we have Roodeberg’s “Rediscover a classic” vintage evening hosted in the Roodeberg room at KWV, and in June it’s the Plasir la Merle ‘Barok’ evening hosted in their cellar and beautiful Manor house.  (Complimentary bus trips included for both events)

For bookings to do keep an eye out on www.comewinewithus.co.za.  Also be sure to visit our Facebook page to have a look at all the beautiful photos from our welcome back party which were taken by the very  talented Jomeri Mouton.

With that we’re going to say a big cheers to 2016.  It’s great to be back and we look forward to a year filled with flowing wine, delicious food and amazing people.
