CWWU & Haute Cabrière Wines JHB FEBRUARY

Another year, another reason to indulge in one of our favourite pastimes: endless conversations and sublime wine. With 2018 delivering countless Come Wine With Us events across Johannesburg, Cape Town, Pretoria and Durban, the stakes for 2019 were high, but the first event of 2019 did not disappoint.

The #TurkishSoiree – a delightful evening spent celebrating Turkish cuisine, Haute Cabrière wines and dazzling dancers – ensured that guests left with new experiences under their belt. These were in the form of an appreciation for Haute Cabrière and Turkish cuisine and culture, along with many enjoyable memories to look back on as we continue to speed into the year. Not only were guests able to enjoy the entertainment of Mad Nomad’s talented belly dancers, but they were also able to get in on some dancing of their own – the vibe was one of the best we’ve ever enjoyed at a Come Wine With Us event (which is really saying something, given how much fun our guests have had in the past).

Upon their arrival, guests enjoyed a Haute Cabrière Chardonnay Pinot Noir. This was enjoyed over casual catch-ups as the evening settled down. Starters consisted of an incredible tapas platter, which included: roasted eggplant and yoghurt dip, tzatziki, spicy tapenade, hummus, and eggplant tomato dip all alongside beef fillet cubes and mozzarella pide, spinach and feta pide, and homemade flatbread.

Mains brought guests together over a mouthwater sharing platter, which was not shy on its selection. Guests could enjoy organic coriander-crusted lamb chops, chicken thighs, Adana kebabs (spicy lamb), beef fillet cubes served with creamy pepper sauce, spicy BBQ chicken cubes and the sides of rice, grilled vegetables and lavas bread. This was paired with Haute Cabrière Pinot Noir Reserve.

Desserts rounded off a perfect evening with the Haute Cabrière Pinot Noir Unwooded, which paired perfectly with the Kazandibi (milk pudding), Revani (semolina, orange syrup and sponge cake) and chocolate squares – which were served alongside grapes to break the richness.

Not only did our first event of the year set a new bar for the rest of the events to come, but it left guests with delightful memories, full stomachs, and enough smiles and laughter to ward off load-shedding for at least a few weeks (we can hope, right?). We look forward to what the rest of the year has in store for us and you, our prestigious guests. Don’t miss out on April’s #DowntownJazz Johannesburg event at The Lonely Hearts Club – book your tickets today to avoid disappointment.
